ABOUT
THE COCOA BEACH SURF MUSEUM's efforts preserve and document all aspects of the unique history and culture of East Coast Surfing.
Additionally we actively provide positive experiences in the form of events, exhibits, and outreach programs
to increase awareness of the heritage, traditions, and concerns of the Surfing Community.
THE COCOA BEACH SURF MUSEUM originally resided in downtown Cocoa Beach. The original Curator was Sean O'Hare.
The Museum moved to the NATURAL ART SURF SHOP in South Cocoa Beach with space graciously donated by The shop's proprietors,
Pete and Debbie Dooley. Eventually The Museum and it collections out-grew the limited, but greatly appreciated space in the NATRUAL ART shop
and moved into its current location in the RON JON SURF SHOP water sports store, just North of the main store building.
This generous donation by RON JON SURF SHOP provides a dedicated facility not only for exhibits but hosting numerous events.
Generous support is also received from donations made by many individuals and businesses from the local community and abroad.
While THE COCOA BEACH SURF MUSEUM is a formal state and federally recognized 501c3 non-profit organization, with a full governing board,
Volunteers provide the bulk of the man (and woman!) power that has established us as one of the world’s premier surfing history organizations.
